A friend of mine recently asked another friend if all the
pictures I take are for Instagram show-off or if I am a model or ever done modeling.
I am sure that she was not the first person to question my intentions of taking
pictures and sharing them on Instagram since most of my Instagram friends rarely
check my blog let alone read its content. Just to clarify, I created my blog in
2011 before I even started using Instagram. My passion for fashion led my way
into the blogosphere and Instagram. I had anticipated by now to turn that
passion into a profitable brand or business. Nonetheless to say that that
hasn't happened yet, but I can assure you that it is still a dream of mine.
Back to the topic, the pictures I take are for my blog and
Instagram happens to be a quick way to share the content and stay in touch with
my followers. Instagram is a social network platform used to share photos and
videos online. It is also used to promote one’s brand or business, in this case, my fashion blog. Other than Instagram I also use Pinterest, another visual
platform for inspiration and a great way to share ideas with people of the same
passion and interest as of mine.
My Instagram account is linked to the blog for my followers
to quickly get access to my content when I have not yet uploaded it to the
blog. Fashion blogging is a hobby of
mine and Instagram happened to be one way of expressing my passion.
Do you ever get asked why you blog? How do you answer when asked why you are on social media platforms?

ReplyDeleteI rarely get asked why I blog or why I am on social media, but I think that's because I wrote most of that information down in my Blogger profile, on my 'about' page on YouTube and notably on my Twitter profile. I know many bloggers don't take advantage of their options to include that information about themselves, but I didn't mind. It's one place I can share only what I feel like sharing.
I am not on Instagram because they (and Facebook) not only datamine their users and sell that purloined information, but they also practise misogynistic discrimination.
